We are thrilled to announce that we will be auctioning a selection of five artworks by artist Jyoti Duwadi!
Jyoti Duwadi is the artist behind the current exhibition on display at the Esther Webster Gallery here at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Those who have seen and experienced the exhibit in person can attest to the ways his use of natural materials and distinct style captivates viewers.
Duwadi is a multimedia artist, creating sculptures, paintings, drawing, installations and digital art. He is a renowned artist who has exhibited internationally in both group and solo exhibitions. This auction is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Duwadi’s works.
Beyond growing your art collection, this auction is a wonderful way to support the PAFAC. At the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center we believe every person should have opportunities to connect with the arts and see the artist within themselves. It is our priority to find pathways for all community members to feel included in our offerings, including our youngest community members. Jyoti generously donated each of these artworks, meaning 100% of the proceeds will go to our Youth Art Education programming.
Through our Youth Art Education programming, we partner with our local schools to offer classroom arts education, free school field trips, and we provide free or low-cost arts education opportunities throughout the year. We are proud to share that in the past year we have worked with 14 local classrooms providing over 150 hours of education, field trips for 19 classes and we have engaged with 1000+ students in our programs, art stations, workshops, and summer camps.
We’re honored to do this work, but we are not immune from expenses involved. We rely on grants, donations, and program revenue to maintain our youth programming, which costs approximately $73,000 annually. Our hope is to raise a minimum of $7,000 through this auction to help offset the cost of this programming.
By investing in arts education, we not only cultivate creativity but also foster a sense of belonging and empowerment for the youth within our community. Every dollar raised from the auction of Jyoti Duwadi’s artworks will directly contribute to these efforts, ensuring that all young people have the opportunity to discover the artist within themselves.
The artworks will be auctioned during the final days of Reimagining the Intersection of Art & Environment- Exploring Natural & Repurposed Materials; on display through May 26th in the gallery.
