Art & Nature Meet In Full Color

May 2, 2026 by Rachel Storck Filed Under: Latest News

This Mother’s Day weekend, Port Angeles Fine Arts Center invites the community to experience Art In Bloom, a vibrant three-day celebration where art and nature meet in full color.

From Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10, visitors can explore a one-of-a-kind floral exhibition inside the Esther Webster Gallery. Local floral designers from the Port Angeles Garden Club transform inspiration into stunning arrangements, each created in response to artwork from the Fine Arts Center’s current exhibition, Field Notes. Displayed side by side, the artwork and its floral interpretation offer a fresh, imaginative way to experience both. This special pop-up exhibition is open from 11AM to 5PM, with free admission and a suggested donation to PAFAC.

On Saturday, May 9, the celebration extends outdoors with a stunning Flower Bar in the courtyard sponsored by The Olympic Peninsula Flower Market. Guests can build their own bouquet or choose from ready-made arrangements. Additionally, premade show-stopping floral designs will be available for sale from a variety of florists and artists alike, including: Tampopo Farms, Fig and Otter Farm, La Vie Fleurs, A&E Florals, and Ariel Zimman. Local favorites Dragon’s Brew Coffee and Tiny Biscuits Sweet & Confections will also be on site serving drinks and sweet treats, perfect for a relaxed spring outing.

Since its founding in 2004 by former president of “Friends of PAFAC” Mim Foley, Art In Bloom has brought people together through a shared love of creativity, gardening, and art. Today, the tradition continues as a beloved annual event celebrating connection and community.

“Art In Bloom continues to reflect Mim Foley’s vision of bringing people together through creativity, flowers, and shared experiences,” said Executive Director Christine Loewe. “We are proud to carry on this tradition and welcome everyone to be part of it.”

Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is located at 1203 East Lauridsen Boulevard. Whether you are an art lover, a flower enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique way to spend Mother’s Day weekend, Art In Bloom offers a beautiful and inspiring experience for all.
