Guidelines to Submit to Kinship Poetry Reading

Please read the following guidelines for information about how to submit to read at the August 4th event.

Event will take place at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center on Tuesday, August 4th, 5:30-7:30pm.

How it Works

  • Visit the PAFAC gallery and choose the artwork that speaks to you. Kinship will be on display Thursdays-Sundays, 11am-5pm starting on Saturday, July 18th. You can also view the artwork at the opening reception on Friday, July 17th, 5-7pm.

 

  • Write a poem/prose that describes/interprets/reflects/inspires you. When visual and oral arts come together this way, it is called 'ekphrastic'.

 

  • Poems should be no longer than 35 lines; Prose should be no longer than approximately 250 words.

 

  • Your email submission should include a two-page attachment; its file name should include keywords from your submission's title:
    • First Page of attachment must contain your name, your email or other contact data, the title of your submission as well as the title of the artwork and artist.
    • Second Page of attachment is your poem or prose with NO OTHER IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION.
  • Submit in Word Doc format only.
