Art in Bloom: A Mother's Day Weekend Pop-Up

Join us at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center for a treasured annual tradition, Art In Bloom, from Friday, May 8th-Sunday, May 10th. For one weekend only, the Esther Webster Gallery will be filled with living beauty, as floral masterpieces are displayed to complement the current exhibit, Field Notes. Accredited local floral designers will create arrangements inspired by the art in this exhibition and showcase their work alongside the art pieces they drew their inspiration from on Mother's Day Weekend.
During Art In Bloom, PAFAC will also be offering a Flower Bar on Saturday, May 9th from 11AM-5PM where anyone can purchase flowers for themselves, their mother, a mother in their life, or anyone of their choosing. Create your own floral bouquet or purchase one made by Port Angeles Fine Arts Center staff. While you browse the Ekphrastic Floral Designs by florists and buy a bouquet in the Courtyard, you will also be able to enjoy a delicious coffee or drink from a favorite local vendor, Dragon's Brew Coffee, and purchase amazing macarons from Tiny Biscuits Sweets & Confections.
Art In Bloom is a celebration of former Garden Club member and PAFAC board member, Mim Foley. Be a part of this vibrant annual tradition, honor her legacy, and stop by and smell the florals.

Olympic Coast Collaboration: Art In Bloom Hand-Built Ceramic Vase Workshop
Saturday, April 25th or Sunday, April 26th | Workshop Cost: $80 (Includes: all materials, firing, & fresh flowers)
We’re excited to partner with Olympic Coast Creative for our annual Art in Bloom event. Attend the Art In Bloom Vase Workshop at Olympic Coast Creative for a special experience designed to celebrate creativity, connection, and Mother’s Day.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll hand-build your very own ceramic vase, add beautiful texture and personalized details, and choose the perfect glaze color for a stunning finished piece. No experience is required to attend the workshop.
Pick-Up Vases at PAFAC: Saturday, May 9th (pick your own flowers) or Sunday, May 10th (staff selects your flowers)
Flower Bar: Buy or Create A Floral Bouquet in the Courtyard!

In the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center Courtyard, you are invited to join us for our Flower Bar! Everyone is welcome to buy a pre-made bouquet or create their own at this charming event where you'll find a selection of beautiful flowers and vibrant greenery. Buy a bouquet for yourself, your mother, or a mom in your life.
Also, grab a card from a local artist in the gift store and enjoy a delicious coffee from a beloved local vendor, Dragon's Brew Coffee. The History Of Art In Bloom
Art In Bloom began in 2004 and has carried on throughout the years at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Mim Foley, the former president of the Friends of the PAFAC and dedicated volunteer, began this event with the intention of it becoming an annual tradition. Mim was instrumental in raising awareness for the Art Center's mission and through Art In Bloom, her impact has persisted.
Mim's love and appreciation for the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center was in close running with her love for flowers. “My mother wanted to spend Mother’s Day weekend with a family activity that combined her two great loves: gardening and the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center” remembers Irene Alltucker, Mim’s daughter. After gathering a group of master gardener friends and art appreciators, Art in Bloom became a reality over 20 years ago.
After Mim’s untimely death in 2010, her husband Bud Foley created a legacy program for Mim and continued his support of Art In Bloom to honor her legacy. Bud passed away in 2016, but Mim and Bud’s family have continued to generously support this program. The Port Angeles Garden Club continues to carry on the tradition each year in loving memory of Mim Foley, whose enduring love of flowers, family and art first brought Art In Bloom to Port Angeles.
