A Look Back Into The Archives

In honor of National Retro Day, we thought it would be fun to look back into our archive!

The PAFAC holds the single largest collection of artwork by our founder, Esther Webster. The archive includes original paintings, drawings, prints, and sketches. In looking through the archive, you can really get a sense of different styles that Esther employed over the course of her nearly 60 years of artistic work.

In addition to original artwork, PAFAC also holds journals, photos, and correspondence documenting Webster’s remarkable life, from studying art in Prohibition-era NYC to hosting an award-winning radio show on KONP to laying the foundation for what would become the Fine Arts Center.

An Esther Exhibit!

The North Olympic History center also owns a large collection of Esther Webster’s artwork that they have been working on archiving. Our friends at NOHC have put together a new exhibit of Esther Webster’s artwork, including paintings, block prints, and many never-publicized drawings and pieces that the Center has recently digitized. We encourage any history or art enthusiasts to check out the opening reception on Saturday, March 15th from 6-7:30PM at the NOHC’s Research Library (located at 933 W 9th Street Port Angeles, WA 98363).
