Help Us Improve Webster’s Woods Sculpture Park

Can you lend a hand by taking our park survey?

This month we are launching a survey to learn more about your favorite aspects of Webster’s Woods Sculpture Park.

With more than 100 works of art dispersed over this five-acre city park, the park annually receives more than 25,000 visits. This includes visitors from around the world and many locals who join us for daily walks, bird-watching, art viewing, or picnicking.

Port Angeles Fine Art Center staff, as stewards of the city park help maintain the trails, support the maintenance of the physical property, install and maintain the artwork in the park, and provide year-round arts, culture and environmental education within the park through free outdoor festivals, special events, nature-based workshops, free school field trips, park tours, and student camps.

Over the past 1.5 years, PAFAC staff have been working behind the scenes with a group of community stakeholders to generate a community vision for the long-term health and enhancement of the sculpture park. Through this strategic planning effort, we have identified three areas of focus and have laid out a roadmap to improve our visitor experience, address the health of the forest, and increase trail accessibility.

In partnership with the City of Port Angeles we have secured funding to address a few key issues and we’ve begun to tackle park projects including trail improvements and decommissioning of wayward trails, the continued removal of dilapidated sculptures, mapping of invasives species throughout the park, and the design of new interpretive and wayfinding signage.

In the coming months, we will work with community partners to remove our most problematic invasives and we will develop a 10-year forest management plan to ensure the long-term health of this public green space. We are also excited to share that before the end of the year we will complete the first phase of a new ADA accessible loop trail through the park.

As we look towards making these improvements, we want to know what you value most.

Please take a moment to complete the survey.
