Water Connects Us All delves into the bonds created by water, explores the intersection of art, science, and marine conservation, and celebrates the role that creativity plays in inspiring us towards meaningful action. The exhibition features seven artists who are combining their creative ingenuity with ocean science research to inspire a more sustainable future.

Visualizing the Ocean: Art Meets Science Workshop/ Training
Friday, February 7th | 1-5PM

Join PangeaSeed, Puget Sound Restoration Fund, artist Jill Pelto, and the PAFAC for a transformative training to foster creativity and scientific literacy to communicate marine conservation issues and motivate action for ocean protection. Scientists and conservation based artists will gain skills to improve their ability to creatively convey scientific concepts.

Join us to celebrate the new exhibition, view the artwork for the first time, and meet some of the artists. Light bites provided and drinks available for purchase.

Marine Discovery Center: Listening Session
Thursday, February 20th | 5:30-7PM (FULL)

Help craft an art integration strategy for the new Marine Discovery Center, a public-private partnership with NOAA Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary.

Listening sessions will explore how art can best be integrated into the facilities, exhibits, and building with the intent of using art’s emotional power to help achieve the facility’s conservation education goals, inspiring humans to take action to protect and care for wild spaces. Practical consideration about how to fund, select, and care for art installations in an aquarium will also be discussed.

Sessions are FULL. Only those who are registered will be able to attend in person.

Science Days: “The Art of Science” Online Session
Tuesday, February 11th | 3PM (Virtual Event)

Science Days is a free, virtual celebration of science and stewardship put together by the North Coast and Cascades Research Learning Center. Anyone curious about science in our region’s national parks is invited to join for three days of presentation and conversations from Feb. 11th – Feb. 13th. The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center will be hosting “The Art of Science” virtual session on Tuesday, February 11th at 3:00PM. Learn more and register here.

Abstract Organic Sculpture Workshop
Sundays, March 23rd and 30th| 3PM-6PM

Make your own organic sculpture inspired by forms, patterns and textures found in the natural world. Led by artist Ariel Zimman at Fairview Lake Studio in Sequim. Learn more and register here.
